Interesting. Thanks for the link. The Rebbe and his community were known in NYC for their outreach to “lapsed” Jews in the city. They had an RV that was called alternatively the Mitzvah Mobile or Mitzvah Tank that would pull into a neighborhood disgorging its Hasidim youth who would approach men on the street asking if they were Jewish. I was approached and I asked the young man if because Jesus was a Jew and I was raised Roman Catholic, if that made me Jewish. We both laughed and had a brief discussion about Rabbi Jesus who may have been a Prophet, but not the Messiah in his view. Very industrious people…BTW, The Tablet was the name of the weekly newspaper of the Archdiocese of Brooklyn. As kids we used to pick it up at Mass to see which new films had received a “C” rating–“Morally condemned;” or “B” “Morally condemned in part for all.”
