Spring Lake Blitz

SPRING LAKE BLITZ SPRING LAKE MI 2004-10-20 2004-11-29 A6020393 12313120

This was the last paper tournament I sent, and still not rated.

The first problem with the tournament is the ending date. It should be 2004-11-20 not 2004-10-20.

Did talk to one of the players in this event, even he has given up on the idea of the event being rated. Nolan, should I just give up on the idea of the event being rated. With a tournament received for rating on 11-29-2004, it would not be official till 06-01-2005. This is the reason I will never send in a computer disk or paper again.

Well, I assume it isn’t this event:

Event SPRING LAKE SWISS OPEN (200411201690)
Location WARREN, MI 48092
Event Date(s) 2004-11-20
Sponsoring Affiliate UNIVERSAL CHESS CLUB (A6017794)

I don’t see any other event that comes close to matching.

Was a check cashed for the ratings fee?

Do you still have the records to enter the event online?

Nolan:

It shows the event in the tournaments received search. Check for Michigan, October 2004, the Spring Lake Blitz will show up. It was a side event with the players at the Spring Lake Swiss Open. We had a lot of free time between rounds, and they wanted a established quick rating.

I do have the records in the house, they are in storage and can resend the event again online. Not sure if the check was cashed or not, as it was a money order. I do not care if I have to pay the rating fee over. It was a round robin event, with just the few players. If the records are lost, will send in the event online. The reason I have not at this time, as I did not want the event rated twice.

If the records are lost from New Windsor, will do it online.

.

I don’t have any way of telling what they have in NY, but if an event isn’t showing online at all (including on the pending event status list feature that I added to the TD/Affiliate Support Area the other day), then I don’t know what to advise you without running the risk of it getting double-rated. (Which, fortunately, is fairly easy to correct now.)

Walter Brown (wbrown@uschess.org) will be the person to check with on missing/unprocessed events, but until we get all the records moved from NY to TN at the end of April he might not be able to find out much more than I could online.

If its’ not a problem to remove a double-rated event, then I would not mind sending it in again (online). Since records can get lost and it was on paper. I could have just gotten lost. I hate that its so old and as you said its not on the records. This has happened before, and I do not have a problem. I will look at the records and should send it online again in a few days.
