Folks, here is a little lighter and encouraging Chess Topic - don’t know if it has been brought up here or not, found this link in the Illinois Chess Association web site. Very entertaining, and begins to capture the essence of Scholastic Chess and what themes make it a worthy volunteer activity. This is the kind of stuff that some of us think the USCF should be involved in creating and promoting. Maybe it is… but just might not be doing a great job of getting the word out.
thanks!!
Just wondering, but whom do you think created it, and was the first to promote it (scholastic chess) in the USA. Names come to mind like, Bill Goichberg, Don Shultz, Kolty, the USCF. Just my take on it.
