…scot…

"We are celebrating National Chess Day this coming Saturday October 15th at Kenosha Southwest Library.

We are planning for a Simul from noon to 2 p.m. However several local Simul players are unavailable due to scheduling conflicts, so I am still looking for a player for the Simul.

Would you be interested in playing the Simul? Or do you know any strong players who might be interested? It is a volunteer event, but we would be happy to reimburse your transportation expenses such as mileage.

I’ll looking forward to hearing back from you. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like to discuss."

please contact Mr Allan Cargille @ allancarg@gmail.com

Mr. Cargille knows that National Chess Day was the 8th, right?

Alex Relyea

alex,

i was willing to overlook that “minor discrepancy” to support his efforts.

cheers, …scot…

Technically it said “celebrating National Chess Day” instead of “celebrating on National Chess Day”. With October 12 being tomorrow and various entities celebrating Columbus Day yesterday, I can see celebrating something a week after most other celebrations.
Many US Holidays change dates from year to year. At least the Fourth of July stays the same every year in the US (and other countries also keep it on that date).
