Made me think of Rollerball (1975).

Are Armageddon Chess Games Fair?

I don’t think there would be an audience for that in the USA Unless it can be streamed, which is most likely, because it won’t air on a major tv station in the USA.

I’m sure it will be exciting chess, but for serious chess players, blitz chess like that is considered inferior. But there is little chance even Quick chess would make for much as a television show.

Sadly, the American audience has little appetite for intellectual games if they don’t understand the rules.

I’m on satallite broadband, so I rarely stream anything longer than 5 minutes. Otherwise I’d be curious to watch Armegeddan Chess. Streaming live events is nearly impossible.

+1

I understand chess, but can’t imagine wanting to watch it on TV. Like watching paint dry.
