Today was called on account of 50 mph gusts. (Safety issue.)

We’ll be here tomorrow!

Use triple weighted pieces. The Duel Timer clocks have a lower footprint; Saitek clocks are light, aerodynamic and can fly. Good Luck!

Thanks for the good wishes. Flying pieces were not a problem; flying tables and tents were. Did not feel like testing the quality of our R.V. Nuccio liability coverage. (All but one of the for-profit vendors also pulled up stakes.)

Chris Christmas got hold of IM Arjun Vishnuvardhan in time to tell him to stay home (and I think NM Marvin Dandridge was planning to come as well). FM Albert Chow & NM Frederick Rhine arrived immediately after the plug was pulled. Thanks to all of them for making the effort, especially considering the proximity of this event to the Chicago Open.

The sun’ll come out tomorrow…

It did. And it was good.

Who took this very nice photo?

That would be me.

A few Kasparov-autographed collectors’ items (not to mention old stuffola from my office) is being auctioned on eBay: 100% of proceeds to Chicago Chess Center, a 501(c)(3) org, via eBay Giving Works.
