Under EB 26-011, US Chess is supposed to automatically update members’ ratings from foreign FIDE-rated events after each FIDE rating list is published.
My son (an active member with an established US Chess rating, USA flag on FIDE) played two FIDE-rated opens in Europe this summer:
- 42nd Andorra Open (July 18–26, 2026), rated on the August 2026 FIDE list
- Sparkassen Chess Trophy, Dortmund (August 1–9, 2026), rated on the September 2026 FIDE list
The Dortmund event was applied to his US Chess rating. The Andorra event, which was on the earlier list, was not. So it doesn’t look like an eligibility issue; more likely the August batch was missed or partly processed.
I emailed fide@uschess.org with his IDs and the details in late September and followed up twice, but haven’t received any reply.
Two questions:
- Was the August 2026 FIDE list processed for foreign-event updates, and are other members missing events from it?
- What is the correct contact or escalation path when the shared inbox doesn’t respond?
