From a local radio station in Crossville, TN

WORLD RENOWN CHESS MASTER FROM CUMBERLAND COUNTY PASSES
A world renown chess-player that made his home in Cumberland County has passed away. William “Bill” Hall passed away early Tuesday morning from complications due to diabetes. He was 46. Bill Hall was Valedictorian of his graduating class at Cumberland County High School, graduated from MIT and returned to CCHS to teach math. He was also a champion chess player, winning 12 county championships, a state and a national championship. Bill Hall was also the Executive Director of the United States Chess Federation for 8 years. Funeral arrangements will be forthcoming.

Sad day.

A sad year for US Chess. Too many funerals, too little time.

Age 46 . . . . Too young . . . . :frowning:

Does anyone have information about funeral or memorial service plans? Thanks.
