There is a good faith filing deposit to reduce the number of specious complaints. About half of the TDAC complaints are valid with about 10% or so of all complaints resulting in probation or suspension inst4ead of warnings. Another 30% are not valid but were clearly filed in good faith. Those 80% of filings The remainder are deemed to not be in good faith and the good faith fee is not returned. Almost every year sees one or more TD certification suspensions ranging from 5 years to lifetime
Rules does not issue any penalties.
Ethics does membership penaltiess.
SAC (States and Affiliates Committee) does affiliate penalties..
Safe Play also does membership penaltes.
The committee penalties are actually recommendations to the EB (Executive Board) and then the EB makes the final decision as to whether to apply them, increase them or reduce/eliminate them. The EB can also be the initial (only) committee that reviews an issue. In egregious situations the Executive Director can act temporarily until the EB makes a decision.
