Question: How many individuals played a rated game in 2004?

Question: How many individuals played a rated standard time control game in 2004, or where can this information be located?

Around 61,000 separate USCF IDs were used in regular or dual rated events in calendar 2004.

Another 700 or so IDs were in quick-only events but not in any regular or dual rated events.

That’s interesting. Can you say how many IDs were only in regular, non-dual-rated, events?

I’m not sure if you want to know how many IDs were in events that were regular rated only, or how many IDs were ONLY in regular-rated events, not in any Dual or Quick rated events.

The latter can be determined fairly easily (around 23,850) , the former is probably not available because the old ratings programming used separate event IDs for dual rated events, one event ID for the regular rated section and a separate event ID for the quick rated section. I have not found a reliable way to match up 100% of those event IDs with each other.

I was looking for the number of IDs that were only in events that were only regular-rated, whihc is I think what you gave me.

So, if I undersdtand correctly, there were 61K IDs who were in regular or dual events; ~24K of those played only in regular-only events, so ~37K must have played in both regular-only and dual events (or only in dual-rated events, I guess)? And only 700 played only in quick-rated-only events.

Thanks,
