Records Against Rating Band, Ratings Included in List of Games

In the pre-MUIR system, it was possible to check a player’s record against opposition of specific rating bands (e.g. 1800s). Is that not a function in MUIR? I cannot seem to find it.

In addition, if you click the list of games under, let’s say, “2026”, or under specific opponents, it lists the games and events, as well as the result, but the rating of the player in that event is not noted in that list. Is this a feature that they will be adding at some point?

There were many posts asking about possibilities of various existing MSA features into MUIR,

Specifically regarding to the above feature, https://forum.uschess.org/t/game-stats-and-norms/60140/17 was it, statistics detailed in opponents’ rating group (every 100 points a group), and you could choose between pre-event and post-event ratings.

My understanding was, these features are considered enhancements and has to go through spec, approval, and implementation.

I think ratings by opponent’s rating will be added some time this summer, I don’t think it is in the next development cycle (April) and probably won’t be in May’s cycle, either.

It will probably be a user-selectable range (like the date range on the opponent search) rather than discrete ratings bands. That should give users the ability to select both a range of ratings and a range of dates.

I liked that feature too. Another little data bit I enjoyed was being able to look up a player’s record against a specific opponent in the old system, but I don’t know if that was commonly used. Did anyone else ever use that?

I used it all the time!

Opponent is available in new system already - with drill down. but the rating info is missing there, too. You have drill down into the tournament section to see the ratings which seems like a weird design as it is most useful at the natural level of the encounter with the opponent.

I dislike that the BY & FILTERS go back to defaults of year/all/last year.
95+% of the time I want opponent/Regular/all time (I don’t see a way to change defaults - and hacking a URL only works at top level)
