I have been contacted by an organization (Silver Knights) seeking my participation as a chess volunteer in efforts to work with senior citizens for the purpose of ameliorating/avoiding Alzheimers. Do any of you have practical experience with this group? I’ve asked them for details about their teaching program, but have not gotten much in the way of specifics, except that they are supposed to have a curriculum (so far not demonstrated to me).
The good chance is, they do not have much in the way of experience. I heard about a similar group here in Oklahoma about 4 or 5 months ago, but have heard nothing since. Seems as though the interest was stimulated though an article about Chess being a help meet to treatment of Alzheimer’s patients in the early stages. I looked for the article but never could find it, as I did not know the name of the article, or it’s author.
