Sunday, 3:30PM, Women’s World Champion GM Alexandra Kosteniuk

The cost for each simul is $29.

Are the simuls only open to members participating in the tournament?

What is the procedure for registering for the simul if the player is already registered for the tournament?

  • Enrique

The simuls are open to everyone.

The registration system should treat each event independently, you can either register for multiple events at the same time or in separate transactions.

You can only play in one of the ‘sections’ in each simul time slot.

Mr. Nolan,

I wish to play in the Kosteniuk simul but ran into a snag.
What do we put for Grade and School if we are in college and not K-12?

I tried leaving them blank and was given an error message.

Thanks,
Thomas

The registration system was not designed to support open side events at scholastic events.

As a workaround, you can use 12th grade. (You will also need to select a school.)

I don’t know how easy it would be to patch the program to bypass those checks, I’ll look at it if I have time later today.

A new membership webstore and registration system is being designed to deal with the USCF’s changing needs. (The Voucher redemption system was the first phase of this.) I hope to be able to put the rest of it into production after SuperNationals, probably in May or June.

Thanks, I registered under 12th grade and picked my high school from last year (that won’t be having a team at nationals anyway), so hopefully there won’t be any problems the day of the simul.

I appreciate your assistance.

Thomas

I’ve now updated the registration program so that it doesn’t check for grade or team information for the simuls, but does check for that information if you are registering for either the main event or the blitz side-event.
