Is there going to be any way to access the old UI after the Leago switchover?

Sorry for the stupid question, but will there be any way to keep using the old site’s MSA after the Leago switchover? To be honest I’m just really not a huge fan of the new site’s design (and I quite like the old design), so I hope to find out if there will be any alternative to switching over. I also might just be misunderstanding everything completely, of course.

MSA will be available during a transition period and will continue to get membership updates during that transition period (which will likely be several months), but it will NOT get any ratings updates after the cutover, so once we issue the first ratings supplement generated on Leago you will need to use Leago to find the latest published ratings for players. And for TDs who use current ratings instead of published ratings, Leago will be the only source for current ratings for events submitted after the cutover.

How about putting on here the directions how to get to the Monthly Rating File from Leago? Is the September or October supplement available from Leago now? Or do we just use the normal method to find the Monthly Supplement? Oh! The November Supplement is already out.

I don’t know where the ratings files will be on Leago yet, but the November list that was created last week will continue to be available through the member dashboard through the transition period. The December files won’t be created until the 3rd week of November.

the beta site, it seems difficult to find the equivalent to old MSA’s “Ratings History Graph” where it shows post-event ratings, not the monthly published ratings. In fact, I could not find it on the beta site.

I don’t believe they are currently showing post-event rating graphs. That’s probably going to be on the list of enhancements after rollout.

Southbaychess, don’t you find that entering tournaments with the 3 files is quite simple? I have never used the old system to enter tournaments, but manually and with automation, I like Leago for entering tournaments.

Opinion: I do not like seeing the ratings stacked on same chart since it tends to compress the vertical scale when the rating values have a large delta and the graph is already vertically challenged. I was surprised to see that it is static and not an object with controls that you could pull out (drill down - pop up) and tweak to your preference.

In general I’d like to have an option to export raw detailed data to roll my own for everything (within data privacy constraints) –

I think that person was referring to entering events online. About 10% of the events we rate are not submitted using the 3 DBF files, they’re entered online, mostly smaller ones, though I think there have been a few 100 player events entered that way.

It takes a little time to get up to speed entering events manually on MUIR, but I”m getting the hang of it. A post-launch feature that has already been logged is to be able to create a round-robin formatted event, where the columns represent opponents rather than rounds. The feature Leago has developed for handling cross-round pairing may make it relatively simple to offer a toggle between ‘round-by-round’ formatting (AKA Swiss) and round robin formatting.(But once the RR toggle has been selected, it probably cannot be easily undone.)

Once the API for uploading events into MUIR is available and developers start supporting it, the percentage of events entered online may drop.

I tend to agree with you on the stacking issue, and I’ve logged a feature request to be able to select which ratings show on the graph (which will eventually include correspondence ratings).

Tweaking the graphs and other statistical stuff will be an ongoing post-launch task.

The API should allow people to download data for their personal use, but I don’t know the timeline on when those will be available and there will need to be a signup form to get an API key so we can track usage and apply appropriate rate limits. MUIR pages will likely have a lower rate limit to discourage webscraping. If people want bulk data, they will need to sign up for access to an API.

The custom ratings list feature on MSA does not yet have an equivalent on MUIR, either.
