I posted my first tournament results to the new MUIR system yesterday morning. How long does it take to post to timeline in classic ratings database? Players are still waiting for results to post to their timeline.
Not sure what you mean by the ‘classic ratings database’.
If you mean MSA, that page is in the process of being phased out (probably in 2026) and there are no plans to back-port events submitted on MUIR to MSA.
Correct, I meant the old MSA database. Are players still notified when the ratings post in the new system? A couple players told me they didn’t receive any notification and I did not either, so just checking. Thank you
No, the ‘your tournament has been rated’ emails are not yet available on MUIR, though that is in the list of features we’re hoping to add soon.
MUIR has several advantages over MSA, once a TD submits an event for rating, it should be available on MUIR within a few minutes, 24 hours a day. Of course it is still subject to being rerated to get it into chronological order, and that will probably continue to happen weekly.
Thank you for the prompt responses Michael. Most appreciated.
Hello. If email notifications are not sent, could USCF please change the link to the new player profiles on MUIR system for each player? At present, when you click on a player’s name on the USChess.org website, it redirects to the old MRA system, where the tournament does not appear. Unless this is corrected, players will continue contacting the tournament director, assuming the event results have not been posted. This creates unnecessary confusion and places unwarranted blame on the TDs.
Can you send me screen shots of the specific pages where the links are wrong. If they’re within the MUIR infrastructure, those need to be sent to the developers for changes, but if they’re on something like new.uschess.org then those pages are maintained by the publications team.
Hello Michael. This would be new.uschess.org, which I presume publications team would need to change. Attached is the screen shot from “player-search” portion of the website. Clicking on players name will bring you to the old MRA system.
Thanks, I’ve passed it on to communications and publications. There may be others we missed, if anybody spots them, drop me an email.
