Hello,
I noticed that this particular tournament’s ratings are now empty. Since this is from a month ago, it is resulting in the live ratings to be incorrect. This was working fine a couple of days ago, so something must have happened recently.
It appears that the ratings are back up for this tournament. However, subsequent tournament ratings are still incorrect. They are still working as if this tournament didn’t exist.
Yeah, this event got messed up when staff was doing a correction. It has been corrected and the subsequent events will be fixed with another small rerate this evening before they generate the 2nd test of the rating supplement files.
I’ve looked at test versions of the Gold Master and allratings files and found a few minor issues. The question about upper/lower case seems resolved though, the names in the files were all upper case.
That’s something senior staff may want to discuss, as it’s a policy issue rather than a technical one.
Appears to have been fixed now. Thanks!
For players who opt in, FIDE tournament results typically appear about one month later in the USCF rating system. However, under the new MUIR system, the October FIDE tournament results did not show up in the December supplement (after 3rd Wednesday of November).
Where’d you get a copy of the December supplement from? If you mean the line marked December in MUIR, it’s clearly not final right now - you can see where some Regular and Online Regular rating entries are missing, for example:
FIDE adjustments for October have not yet been made. That won’t happen before the final release of the December supplement.
Hello, Nolan, thanks for the response from your busy schedule.
Under the old system, non-USCF FIDE tournament results would typically appear by the middle of the following month. This timing ensured that the USCF official rating (calculated on the 3rd Wednesday of each month) included those results in the subsequent month. For example, I played a tournament in Europe in September, and that event was reflected in my November official rating.
With the new MUIR system, however, none of my October European tournament results have appeared so far, and consequently my December official rating does not reflect them.
[A side note and suggestion: It appears that the new MUIR system is experiencing a number of issues, which is understandable for any newly implemented platform. One possible approach would be to allow the old and new systems to run in parallel until MUIR is fully functional. At that point, the old system could be retired.]
Do you expect 1500 TDs to do the work of entering their events twice?
