TD info should be showing on MUIR now

TD information (level, expiration and Safe Sport info) should be showing on MUIR on the left hand side of a member page.

Not sure this is working/displaying properly for everyone.

This TD, US Chess, is missing his SafeSport which expires August 23, 2026.

Mine, US Chess, doesn’t appear to show anything, TD or SafeSport.

If your TD information is not showing on MUIR, try syncing your membership using the tool on your member dashboard. I did that for Chris Bird, his TD info shows up now.

Excellent. Now if it would show the FIDE Arbiter level as well, like the MSA page did, that would be even better. But, this is a good start.

I think nearly all TD records have been synced to MUIR now.

A new process to capture FIDE titles (playing and non-playing) has not been fully spec’d out yet, and I don’t know whether that’s a task best done as part of the membership programming or the MUIR programming.

This is an interesting idea. Is it intended that FIDE titles would eventually be displayed under a member’s USCF profile?

MSA had both playing and non-playing titles, MUIR currently only has the playing titles (see IM title for Jay Bonin below), and I’m not sure if they’re being kept up to date. (That requires writing a program to pull data from FIDE.)

Some players even have an FOA title on their FIDE page, in addition to a non-playing title and/or playing FIDE title. I take it that all three categories would be separate decisions whether it was worthwhile or not to import and periodically update that information.

It’s been several years since I was directly involved in this, but as I recall the FIDE Rating List file does not have non-playing titles on it (arbiter, organizer, trainer, etc.), for that I think you have to download the all-players list.

Shouldn’t this be a very low priority/little value add since the FIDE profile is already just a click away??

Sort of. We do need to capture the FIDE Ratings List data, because it is used for the blending formula to initialize the US Chess ratings for players who have a FIDE rating, and we need to be able to identify foreign IMs and GMs in events because they’re exempt from membership requirements, but getting the playing and non-playing titles posted on MUIR is less critical.

Since the plan is to shut down the legacy websites at some point, we will need to replace the task on Gambit that currently pulls the FRL.
