Membership issue in MUIR

We have a player who renewed his membership on Saturday. The old system shows correct expiry date after the renewal.

However, in MUIR it still shows the old expiry date. Can someone help? Thanks!

If you put that expired member in your tournament. And validate the event he will show as expired, but if you validate the event a second time he will then show as current on the new system.

Not the most elegant solution, but it’s a good temporary fix.

And it doesn’t always work. Pulling updates from the membership system seems to be failing intermittently, the developers are working on this.

Please let me know when it is fixed so that I can submit tournament report.

Another MUIR question:

We had 2 different schedules. 3-day and 2-day.

All games in 3-day schedule are FIDE rated. First two games in 2-day schedule are not FIDE, and schedules merged on round 3.

When we try to submit to MUIR, there is a checkbox to indicate whether games in a section are FIDE rated.

Since I selected the “Exclude games from FIDE rating report” for the 2-day schedule in SwissSys, if I denote the merged section as FIDE rated it won’t rate the 2 day schedule games as FIDE, correct?

You’ll have to ask the ratings department that, I haven’t worked with getting FIDE events ready to rate for several years.

you just mark the section as FIDE rated in MUIR.

Then you send the 3-day (MERGED) sections and the 2-day sections to Brian Yang. He will sort out the 2-day games from the 3-day merged sections manually and then submit to FIDE.

Ok thanks for the clarification. I thought it is an automatic process with MUIR.

MUIR shouldn’t be relevant to what gets sent to FIDE - that’s all going to just be “what Brian Yang sends to FIDE for rating from your SwissSys file.”

EDIT: clearly beaten; I should have refreshed first.

As others have pointed out, MUIR is purely to get the event US Chess rated and if it is a FIDE rated event/section, then you must check that box to pay the FIDE rating fee there. Your licensed FIDE arbiter should be aware that nothing has changed with the process of how to submit the necessary files to US Chess so it can be FIDE rated, which is detailed at Information on FIDE Rated Tournaments in the USA | US Chess.org

How did your weekend tournament go with the rescheduled FIDE Arbiter?

Thank you for checking Ken. It went very well.

We were lucky to find such an experienced arbiter at a short notice and everything worked out well.
