How long does it take for a new member to be validate-able?

  • I needed someone in round 3 to to even the pairings. One of the player’s brothers registered and I used his new USCF ID for our house player.
  • I can find his record in MUIR. Andy Breaux - 33350267
  • I marked him as a house player, but when I validate, I get an error: Member not found and can’t submit the tournament.
  • Do I just need to wait longer for the tournament to be able to retrieve the ID# from MUIR? The tournament is the FBCC 2026 Halloween Open, #202610300303.

When you say registered I am guessing you meant as a non-member with an ID. In that case the player needs to be flagged as a house player.

The ID is created before payment information is entered and some people think they are done once they see the ID, exiting without actually paying. If that happened here then house player is the only option. It may require office validation (I rarely haven’t used a non-member house player in MUIR so I don’t know the parameters for automatic validation of a house player).

Yes, exactly. And I turned on the switch that indicates that he’s a house player.

I don’t do house players, so I don’t know what is supposed to happen. But if I put him in a fake tournament, mark him as a houseplayer, and validate it, it says he is not found, but it does not give me an alert or warning, so it seems he is passing muster?

And perhaps, possibly, I’m just confused.
The validation complains that I have a restriction. But I just continued to the submission page, and it looks like I can submit it anyway.

It looks like you have found a “created an id, never paid” record.

Exactly. I told him that he had to get an ID so that I can submit the tournament but that he doesn’t have to pay to join because he’s a house player.

I’m sure that’s what it is. The question is, would they rate it? It
doesn’t show error, warning, or alert.
