I had a person registered for my tournament one day ago. He paid both the tournament fee and the new membership (first-time) when he registered. I am used to new members seeing the USCF alert to “Join Here.” They pay at the USCF site, then return to my registration site and pay the fee. I have never had an issue. They are also members within 5 minutes on the USCF rating site.
I went to the Affiliate site and paid for his USCF membership. It shows his USCF ID in my affiliate site. However, it does not show up on the US Chess rating site. https://ratings.uschess.org/
I am going to https://ratings.uschess.org/ and entering his USCF ID. I also went into Players at the same site, and his name and/or ID do not populate. I selected the two-plug/cord icon. I assume this is the “refresh” button. Would it help if I gave you the ID that appears on my affiliate site?
His ID also did not populate in the ChessRegister Search under name. I submitted payment and information to USCF under affiliate. It does show on the site. Is there something I am suppose to do, or, is there a glitch with getting his new membership processed?
I’m assuming this is related to a pending event, that’s where the refresh button is inside the TD portal. If it isn’t working, give me the event ID, name and member ID.
TDs and affiliates should also have a ‘Sync Membership to MUIR’ tab on their member dashboard and can enter up to 5 IDs there. (Players who are not TDs can only sync their own member record via their member dashboard.)
Here’s what the refresh icon looks like (blown up, ignore checkerboard background)
Oh, that refresh icon. Yes, I was doing that too. I just did your other suggestion, ‘‘Sync Membership to MUIR’” with his ID. I went back to uschessratings and his name is now populated. Thanks!
I’ve been running into this, too. Just now (two days after processing the player’s new membership) I tried Nolan’s suggestion to refresh the player info. That didn’t work. So I did something that makes no sense, just fooling around to see what happened: I toggled on “house player,” then toggled it off, and . . . voila. My event passed validation.
