New Members do not Sync with Tournament Reports

I bought two players new memberships and renewed several others on Sunday. The Tournament ratings system still can’t see the new players. I’ve run the Manual Sync several times with no link. What is my next step?
Thanks

It seems that nowadays, TD needs to manual sync EVERY new member… https://forum.uschess.org/t/new-manual-member-sync-for-tds/59754
tedious

For the unrated section of our upcoming school championship,

so far I had to manual sync every player…

I wonder why the system cannot sync on its own.

I think it’s even worse than that - if you manual sync a player, you might have to delete the event and reupload to get it to validate (at least, I have had this happen).

I do a membership batch almost every day, and I dont wait for the automatic sync, I do the manual sync immediately after I process every batch.

The advantage is that every membership I process I know for a fact is in the new system, the disadvantage is that I dont give the system a chance to sync the membership so I have no way of knowing how many of the memberships I process would sync or not, or how long it would take.

I did recently renew our affiliate and it took 6 days to port to the new system, luckily we renewed the affiliate a month early so the 6 day wait was not a big deal for us at all.

I dont know if 6 days is normal for affiliate memberships to port to ratings or if the membership port time was an anomaly.

It did port to ratings automatically eventually though. I guess that’s good.

Not sure if any of this information helps or not.

I would have liked to have seen that event before you deleted it to see if it was fixable.

If it happens again, try to reach me. (I can PM you my cell phone.)

Will do. We tend to hit a membership issue at least monthly, so I’ll let you know.

I understand the desire to get events rated ASAP, you could probably have just uploaded it again without deleting the original, I’ve done that numerous times during testing.

But I know the staff are REALLY frustrated with the non-syncing issue, probably at least as much as TDs are. A TD might only see it once every few weeks, staff often have to deal with it several times a day.

I did the sync after the upload and validation for two players and they still would not validate. Then I went into games and entered the state for each of them, and that brought in their information. The validation worked without having to delete and re-upload.

I have my suspicion that sometimes information gets in the upload file for name and state, or is entered by mistake, and it confuses the validator. Deleting that information or changing it to match the player can help in cases where the sync has obviously been done but it still doesn’t validate. (There was a reason the previous system ignored those fields, aside from not being sure what made sense with them.)
